With more than two decades in hospitality, Jas built Mothership from the ground up and brought that same hands-on spirit to the brands we work with. He still believes the best ideas come from hard work, good company, and a well-made drink.
A recognised leader in the Edinburgh bar scene and beyond, Jas continues to set the standard for creativity, service, and craft — recognition that was recently marked with the SLTN Industry Achievement Award in 2024.
Creative & Events Manager
Jamie Wood
Jamie has worked in hospitality for over 25 years and still gets the same buzz from bringing people together over great drinks and atmosphere. His background spans bars, cocktails, and events, from small gatherings to large scale brand experiences, and he has learned that creativity and practicality go hand in hand.
At Mothership, Jamie helps shape the ideas that make each project unique. He loves the challenge of taking a loose concept and turning it into something real, whether that means a bespoke menu, a one off event, or a complete guest experience. Nothing feels too ambitious; with the right team and the right spirit, anything is possible.
Operations Manager
J Hughes
Since joining Mothership in 2013 as Bar Manager at Bramble, J Hughes has led operations across our venues as Operations Manager since 2015. A CLASS Bartender of the Year finalist (2012) and GB finalist in Diageo World Class on multiple occasions, J brings over 20 years of experience in hospitality, bar management, and spirits innovation across the UK and abroad.
At Mothership, J oversees the drinks programs of our Edinburgh bars, collaborating closely with bar managers to ensure quality, consistency, and creativity. They also lead on menu development, costing and data analysis, and provide creative direction for graphic design and social media.
